N.D. Road Construction Season Starts (2009-6-12)
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) Road construction season has arrived in North Dakota.
State Transportation Director Francis Ziegler said it will be "the largest we have ever seen" in the state ¡ª $383 million will be spent on 1,300 mi. (2,092 km) of roads.
That compares with $300 million on 684 mi. (1,100 km) of roads last year.
Ziegler said a lot of the work will be on roads and bridges damaged by blizzards and floods.He said the two largest projects are the replacement of the Red River bridge at Drayton and a concrete recycling project on Interstate 94 eastbound nea
